You, A Void (2025) is the resolution of my nightwalking series, made while willingly confined to the mountains of Colorado.

Like a horror movie that doesn’t relent even after the sun comes up, I spent ninety days enduring the physical discomfort and emotional dysregulation of chemical withdrawal.

While re-walking the same one-mile radius near my temporary group home, I stared down the genetic predisposition, historical causes, and grave consequences of my amphetamine use: my parents’ addiction, early childhood trauma, undiagnosed PTSD, my impending divorce, and an unfathomable loss of community.

With the company of fellow addicts, my camera, seven torrented albums on an old mp3 player, and the powerful words of my intervention group echoing through my head, I began the overwhelming, formidable process of reorienting myself toward life.

You, A Void is about the unmitigated pain of returning to daylight, as well as the reclamation of joy I thought was forever lost to me.
